The content of this course tries to provide comprehensive process-oriented coverage of the many facts and phases of landscape construction. It tries to make students better understand the process of constructing hard landscape improvements with the easy-to-follow instructions organized according to the construction process. From site preparation to the installation of the final project details, undergraduate students will learn how to implement a host of exterior construction projects, including retailing walls, paving, exterior carpentry, fencing and free-standing walls, as well as such amenities as, pools, paving, and edging.This course will be taught in both lecture and studio format. Lectures will be devoted to introduction of each new topic or presentation of construction procedure. Studio time will be devoted to individual instruction and desk critiques.
